It had a checkered pattern etched into it and an ancient owl insignia carved into the top of it. He went to go looking for the source of the noise. He heard the faint sound of stone scraping against stone. Otus eventually found the third ruin in Tropos and placed the disk in the hole. He found them while looking for the Floating Content, and he was curious while looking for a third ruin for the disk he found in the tower while following Solus. Otus had found two other disks like it and put them in holed ruins in Strato. He looked beneath his cloak and found the lone golden disk. He knew the layout while it was still floating islands, but he didn’t know how they landed, and there were infinite possibilities on how they could’ve landed. Either way, he rubbed his eyes, which were still kind of puffy from the previous night, and rolled up his sleeping bag and put it with his friends’ bags. Definitely not a good start to the day, Otus thought, Asio would’ve scolded me for this. Otus ended up crying himself to sleep that night, worrying half to death about his friends’ safety. Knowing he was safe in this life gave him hope, but the voices in his brain that said his friends didn’t make it eventually gained a chokehold on his heart and he started sobbing. Were they safe? Were they even alive? Otus felt the tears fall down his face and curled up in a ball in his sleeping bag. Otus stared at the bags and thought of Geddy, Alphonse, Twig, and Solus. They all left them here at the miniature campground because it would’ve been a better use of resources if they stayed.
As he tried to sleep he saw his friends’ bags that were there too. He quickly found the campsite he and his friends used many times before in Tropos and layed down with his sleeping bag that he left there. Otus looked up to the sky and noticed the sun was almost gone past the horizon and tried to get some sleep. Someone to make him feel safe and secure after what happened in the study. He wanted to be with Geddy or Alphonse or Twig, heck he’d even take Asio, he just wanted someone to comfort him. He got up only to be knocked back down again by the force of Tropos hitting the water.
